Stickers are a versatile and effective marketing tool that can be used to promote your business , product or brand. They can also be a creative interactive approach for businesses to engage customers, such as giveaways or promotions with stickers and even collect data on social media where customers can share pictures taken with the stickers. As useful as stickers may be, preparing the sticker design for printing could be a sticky situation if you’re not sure what to do ;)
Here is a checklist for all you need to know about sticker printing.
1. Purpose of the Sticker
What is the intention of the sticker and who is your target audience? What is the message you’re conveying in the sticker? Defining your purpose, target demographic and sales message will help guide the design process and ensure your end design is aligned with your goals.
2. Size & Shape
Determining the right size and shape of your sticker is crucial as they will influence the visual impact and legibility of the sticker. Always contemplate the size & shape in relation to the product. Are they in proportion with the product’s dimensions or would they be a misfit against the design?
3. Sticker Location
Consider the sticker placement location and the purpose of the sticker before creating the design. Will it be a small surface area, like a laptop or a bigger surface, like a car.
The location of the sticker placement is also important to decide the material type of the stickers. If it’s placed outdoors, you’ll want a weatherproof sticker. If it’s placed in cold storage (fridges/ freezers), waterproof material is required.
Take into account the purpose & location of your stickers when selecting sticker materials. Do you need a durable sticker for outdoors or a cost-effective paper sticker for a one-time use. Or is it a product label sticker which requires a transparent background. These should help determine the best option for the print.
Stickers are commonly small in size so legibility and clarity of the design is very important. Use clear fonts that can be easily read from a distance and minimum sizes of 6pt so nothing is too small to read. Also keep your design simple and purposeful so details can be captured at one glance.
Always incorporate your brand colors in your design to maintain brand consistency and induce familiarity with your brand. If brand colors are not available, use high-contrast colors in text & background. For example, white text on a black background.
Once you have considered all factors above, you can create the ideal sticker that is uniquely tailored to your needs and preferences. And printing stickers will be a breeze! We can even process express printing for 24 hours printing or next-day delivery.
